Merry Chirstmas!

Merry Christmas Everyone! It's been a long and eventful year for us all and We thought we'd share with all of you some of the great things from this Christmas season. AS you can see Brenix was a wise man for the family Christmas Story. He kept it on just long enough for me to take the picture and that was it.
Christmas morning was a blast for us all. Aunt Angela came up to watch the kids open up their gifts from the family. Mak and Bubba had a lot of fun.

Crime Spree

This is Thomas James Coleman, AKA "Tom Tom" and the vocal part of the organization.
This is Brenix Carson Miller, AKA "Bubba". He likes to throw his weight around, and is more the strong and silent type.

Together they have started the newest crime wave on the Coleman compound. They were last seen in Aunt Michele's kitchen riding on their get away vehicle (the ride on car). The witness (Aunt Michele) says that she personally saw them grabbing as many graham crackers as they could both carry and stuffing them under the seat of the said get away car! Witness says she was too busy laughing to notify the proper authorities. While these two are still on the loose, no one's kitchen is safe!

No more banages!!!

It's time to celebrate! We took Mak to the plastic surgeon last week and she got great news. She no longer has to have her back or her arm wrapped over the burns she got over last summer. While we were at the doctors' , MaKayla asked just one question..."Can i go swimming?". Can you tell by the picture what he said? When we got home, she went straight to her room and put on her swimming suit as fast as she could. I love how the Christmas tree's in the background. Anyway since there is snow on the ground, and it's around 20 degrees out there, i think we're going to have to put off the trip to the swimming pool off for a while. But we are so happy for her it's just great.

I finally got a good picture of Brenix smiling. This just proves that 2 year olds can be sweet sometimes.

Good By October

Ok, so I haven't been real good at updating this thing lately and now I find myself in November and needing to show all of you the stuff we have been doing the past few weeks. We grew huge pumpkins this year in our garden and so that I didn't have to carve them all I gave one to each of the families that live here on the compound with us, and we had the First Annual Coleman
Family Carve Off. It was a blast. Each of the families came up with awesome thing for their pumpkins and we played lots of games and had a great time. This is our pumpkin "Dr. Jackal and Mr. Hyde" because it had a happy face on one side and monster face on the other.
We have been working a lot outside these past few weeks. One of the "honey do's" that I gave Gregg when he got back was to tare down the old shed and put up a new one. Little did i know that it would turn into a great big project that has taken up was more time then i thought it ever would. But the kids and Gregg have loved it. Almost on a daily basis you can find all of our family out side with hammers, chalk lines, nails, and sometimes bandages. Brenix is more than happy to show how high he can climb up the ladder while Mom has a heart attack.
When all the work is done for the day, who doesn't like to take a nap? MaKayla was sent back one day to do just that, sleep. When i went to check on her this is what i found. Her sleeping in one of her drawers! Was i mad...a little. Did i laugh...oh yah! I mean does this look comfy to you?
And poor poor Brenix. On Thursday of this last week he got a bloody nose. We didn't think much of it, until the next morning when he woke up and was still bleeding. I took him into see the doctor and we found out he had a sinus infection, that had spread down to his nose (making it bleed), ear infections, and throat infection. WE HAD NO IDEA! The doctor said he should have been the most miserable little boy around, and yet he was sitting there playing peek a boo with her. So i brought him home, gave him the antibiotics that they gave him, and then he feel asleep just like this. What a trooper

And this shows both of my kids on the roof of the new shed with their Dad. Yet another terrifying moment for Mom. Ya got to love the kids who love a thrill and their Dad for letting them try just about anything.

Ahhh the Fair!!!

Ya got to love the fair. The food, the animals, the cut outs you can stick your faces in! Let me tell ya it was a day of fun for all. Gregg was home for the weekend, so we packed up the kids and Grandma Sue and off we went. Who wouldn't like looking like tomato's and eggplants? MaKayla and Gregg thought it was great to try out all the vegetables.

And then there were the rides rides rides! We ran from one to the other. And as you can tell Mak was in her element.

Brenix got the chance to drive his own car, and really got into it. Look at the concentration.

Brenix as the farmer...every little boys dream

And what day would be complete without a ride on the marry-go-round. What a great day.

Mystery solved!

Ok so for the past few weeks all of my bowls ( the small ones that i give the kids breakfast in) have slowly started to disappear. At first i thought MaKayla was taking them back into her room, but after cleaning her room 3 times i came up empty handed. So then i turned to Brenix, who has never had the rep for taking anything where it doesn't belong. Same thing happened, clean bedroom...no bowls. Now life is starting to get hard because we are down to just 2 bowls in the hole house. Gregg came home for the weekend, and I told him of the problem. Saturday morning Gregg solved it. After all meals the kids usually put their dishes in the sink (it's one of their chores). Anyway Brenix after finishing decided that with no food or milk in the bowl it was now useless. Gregg watched our two year old as he got down from the table, picked up the bowl, and threw it straight in the garbage can! No wonder i never found them. Brenix's definition of cleaning up and mine are not the same.

Ya got to love Mondays

Monday Monday Monday!!! You either love them or hate them and my kids love them. For them it's the day that Mom is busy cleaning the house, so it's a great time for them just to relax and watch a movie or two. MaKayla loves stretching out on the couch so Brenix can't sit by her.
And the there's Brenix. Since his sister was being a bum, he decided to protest. Striping down to his diaper, he grabbed his blanket, an apple, then handed me the movie he wanted to watch as i was folding laundry. Oh to be 2 years old again.

Mak going to bed

I thought this picture was funny. Mak has to take meds before bed so she can sleep with the burns.
This is her right before i put her down for the night, and she just looks so tired it's great.

And now for something completly different

Holy cow it's the end of July! Man time flys when your having fun, playing with family and taking your kids to a ton of doctors. I figured that i would try to catch all of you up on what has all been going on here on Miller Lane. Anyway for starters Brenix has grown 3 inches and now is only 5 lbs less then his sister that is 2 years older then him. Lets just say that he now has no problems eating at all.

Then there was the Coleman Family Reunion...hosted by the lovely Aunt Michele (who i hope likes my pic of her) and her husband the always charming Uncle Dave. We laughed, we cryed, but we mostly ate and ate and ate.

And then there was a small accident. While we were up camping at the Coleman ranch, MaKayla fell backwards into the camp fire. Luckily she had a guardian angle that day in the form of our cousin Vaughn . He was pulling her out of the fire as she was falling in. Even though his actions were fast the damage was done. Mak's back was the worst with 2nd and 3rd degree burns (sorry for the naked bum pics but it was the only way to show what it looked like.) But there has been no need for a skin graphed yet.

Her right arm had 1st and 2nd degree burns and doesn't look all that hot either. But she's a trooper.

These pics are a couple weeks old now, and let me tell ya both her back and arm are looking sooooo much better. We still have to change her bandages 3 times a day, but she gets to pic a different color of tape to go on top every time...so Mak doesn't mind too much. The pain is going down and she is slowly getting back to her normal self. We just have to be careful of what she does for the rest of the summer. No swimming, playing in the dirt, and for now no parks. But she's home and in good spirits...and a very very lucky little girl. Thanks to all of you who have been calling and supporting Mak and us. I know that your prayers are what has been helping Mak to heal so quickly.

Welcome back

Welcome home Dad! We are so very blessed and happy to have Gregg home from all the Training he's been doing with the Air Guard. When we pick him up from the airport, MaKayla ran right to him and Brenix climbed up into his arms and wouldn't let Gregg put him down for a good 5 minutes. To celebrate his triumphant return, Gregg wanted to go camping with the kids (something that until now i told him the kids were too small for).
As you can tell I had very little to do on the trip, more because the kids wouldn't leave Gregg alone.
After a great night of sleep for some, and not so great for some others...Gregg, Mak, and Bub all decided that gathering around the camp fire to watch me cook breakfast sounded like a fun thing to do.
I thought that this had to be the cutest pic we have ever got of Brenix. Usually we can't get him to smile when we whip out the camera, but this day Dad got lucky. Anyway it's great to have Gregg home. It's nice to have our family back together again, and we're very blessed.

Spring!

Well spring is in the air, but you can't tell that by standing out side. It got up to 42 degrees today, the hottest it's been in over a week. Between that, the snow, and the wind you can definetly tell we live in Idaho. Anyway, Life continues at it's own pace around here, and we're hopeing that it will warm up soon.

Time in a Pepsi Can?

Ok so it's no surprise to anyone who knows me that i Love Pepsi. I can hear all of you now "Oh it's so bad for you" "There are so many other things you could be wasting your money on" Trust me I've heard it all for many years, but you should all be happy to know that i haven't drank any Pepsi with Caffeine in it since Gregg has been gone. Now that doesn't mean I've stopped drinking it, it just means as long as there is gold to be found on the can, I can have it. But as you can see I am now not the only one in my small family that kind of likes the stuff. Yes This is undeniable Prof that Brenix has the Serr jeans in him (or on him, I'm not quite sure how that works). But just so everyone knows, I do have a picture of me at about age 2 dragging around a can of Diet Pepsi too, so we know it has to be a family problem.
MaKayla on the other hand has decided that when ever a camera comes out she must be in front of it, but unfortunately she has also decided that wearing paints is also an option now days. This was the only one i took that i thought would not compromise me or her, but you've got to love the cheesy grin.
Oh and as for me, Mak thought it would be fun to try and take a picture. Personally i don't think she did half bad for her first try.

Basic is Over

So on January 16, Gregg finished Basic training. The missionary's that are serving at Lackland AFB were kind enough to send me some pics of Gregg graduating, because i couldn't make it down to see it myself.
Gregg looks like he's having fun. He said that he was happy to be done with basic and moving on to tech school in Florida.

Christmas at the Serr house

Marry Christmas and Happy New Year from my family's house in Blackfoot. We had a ton of fun. My grandparents came over and celibrated with us. Presents, food, and fun around every corner.

And as you can see, maybe we took the having fun part a little too far at times. My sisters Kindra (right) and Krysta (left) got into a wicked game of twister that resulted in Krysta biting Kindra in the rear to win. This pic shows just how close we really are as a family.

Ok so the day after i got there, it snowed, and snowed, and snowed. It was Great. I haven't seen that much snow since I was little.

MaKayla was so excited for Christmas and Santa. She loved spending time with her Aunts Kindra and Krysta, Uncle Brad, and Grandma and Grandpa. When ever she was asked if she wanted to go home, she's put her finger on her chin and say "Mmmmm...not today, maybe later." She's getting so big, and it's great to hear what will come out of her mouth next.

Grandma Sue bought Brenix new Sunday cloths, and i thought he was so cute i just had to share. He's finaly starting to talk a little more, and we have the walking thing down pritty good now. He'll turn 2 this year, and i can hardly beleive it.
