Holy Summer Batman!

It's been the summer of many headaches. To start I went back to our deep freezer to grab some meat for dinner, only to find that no power had been getting to the freezer. So as I balled, I threw away around $800 worth of meat, and all of the Jam that I had finished about 4 weeks earlier. To say i was upset about this is an understatement, seeing as most of you know i don't cry very much. So below is my now empty freezer after it's been cloroxed to death.

But our fun had only just begun. Gregg called me from work and told me an interesting story. One his way to work that morning, he had a semi truck full of rocks pass him going the other direction. That's when he heard what sounded like a gun shot ring through his car, and saw the small crater the giant rock made in his windshield. We know that we were blessed cause if the rock had hit any harder, it would have come right threw the glass and smashed into Gregg's head. I was very revealed that all i have to replace now is a windshield, and not a husband.
And if we thought that we were done with all the excitement, we were way wrong! I was cleaning the kids's bathroom (yes I know it's shocking that i was cleaning) and as i was scrubbing the floor i found my hand suddenly inside a wall. I figured it would be an easy fix, so i took off the vinyl covering that was one that wall, only to find extensive water damage and mold from a water leak we never knew about. And thus started the 3rd remodel job we have done in this trailer since the summer began.

But we have found sometime between all the madness to have fun. MaKayla and Brenix have been spending lots of time out in the little pool we have.

Ignore the black spot on Brenix cheek, MaKayla through some mud at him.
All and all it's been an interesting summer so far. But with the family safe sound and having fun, it's all been worth it.

Ta Da !!!

The light was at the end of the tunnel and we have made it! Yahoo!

So the one above is with the cupboards in but we had to finish wireing for the stove and dishwasher. Yes WE HAVE A DISHWASHER!!! And below we have worker Brenix. He did really well and helping us make an even bigger mess....

And now the moment you have all been waiting for.

Isn't it great! And now the fun begins, cleaning up and moving back it! Yahoo for a finished project!

the saga continues....

After almost two weeks of solid hard work, the kitchen is finally starting to resemble, well, a kitchen! Bring in the floor guy and the cabinet maker!

Grandpa picked the flooring and the color for the cabinets.

It's more put together now, but these are the only pics i have taken so far. Stay tuned to see how this whole thing turns out!

More kitchen fun

Have you ever wondered what's behind your walls? Well neither have we, but we found out anyway. At first we weren't going to mess with the walls, cause we thought we could move the outlets without taking down the sheet rock. But we were wrong, and down the sheet rock came.

It took us most of the day, but we got all the electrical moved around, and then it was time to put the sheet rock back up.

And here's Gregg holding up the first sheet so i can take a picture. We really did have fun working together.

We got the last sheet up around 10 on Saturday night, and by that time the kids had had it. So we took them down the Sue's to get some sleep.

Once the kids were out cold I came up and taped and mudded the whole thing. It still doesn't look much like a kitchen yet but we're getting there.

Let it begin!

You all remember how we had a leak under our kitchen sink but we replaced our bathroom vanity instead? Well I finally got around to looking at the kitchen sink problem, and found that the leak had been so bad that it rusted threw the faucet and i couldn't get any of the water lines off. When we told Grandpa Coleman he said " Well lets just replace the whole kitchen!"
So that's what we're doing!

We start with our lovely model Brenix showing off our perfectly out dated and broken down kitchen in its original state.
Yes this is the actual size of kitchen we have been living with for the past 3 1/2 years, and boy was it fun ripping it out!

It only took me about 20 mins. to take out all the upper cabinets. I started by using a screw driver, but decided that a hammer was much faster and more fun.
But the real fun happened when i started to take out the lowers. I forgot to turn off the power and i arched a wire. If you haven't done that, I wouldn't suggest you try it. It hurts.

And this is what we are left with. No cabinets and a really dirty floor. It's been a real stress reveler to be able to destroy my own kitchen, But now that that's over, the real work will begin!

Spring in Idaho!

So the Pic's are a little bigger then i intended, but i guess it will have to work. This spring has been crazy with the whole Mother Nature thing. First it snowed, in late April.

Snowed alot!

So the kids and i figured we would just plant all our veggies inside. MaKayla and Brenix worked well together until they had to plant the pumpkins. There were just not enough seeds to keep World War III from braking out.
Despite the coldness, we have enjoyed going on walks as a family. Brenix got cold and asked to wear Dad's coat. We had a blast. I love this picture of my boys
It's been a crazy spring. I hope it warms up soon and stays warm!
